Garron Chang is an Emmy Award-winning composer for film and television. His work is defined by a distinctive blend of ambient, classical, and electronic elements creating emotionally resonant scores that often explore darker and more introspective cinematic soundscapes. He received the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Direction and Composition (2023) for the Apple TV+ documentary series HOME season 2 and he was nominated for Best Original Score-Feature for HUNTING LANDS at the Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema.

His music has reached wide audiences through broadcasts on KCRW 89.9FM in Santa Monica and his concert and recital performances were heard on Los Angeles’ classical station 91.5FM, where he also delivered a live in-studio performance. His collaborative co-writing spans a diverse range of artists, including Bruno Mars, Tricky, and DJ Z-Trip, as well as scoring films for Emmy Award-winning directors such as Doug Pray, Brian Knappenberger, and Academy Award-winning director Bill Guttentag.

Garron studied at Johns Hopkins University and received classical music and guitar performance training at the Peabody Institute. Drawing from a wide range of genres and traditions, he brings a highly unique and expressive perspective to every project.  He’s a member of ASCAP and the American Federation of Musicians Local 47.
